Mr. Riloff specializes in corporate development issues for successful closely held businesses and its shareholders. His expertise centers around business succession and exit strategies. His twenty plus years as an advisor and leading life insurance producer is a testament of his perseverance and persistence. Jay started his career as an assistant administrator in a nursing facility, which led to his partnering with owners to form an insurance brokerage operation. As acting General Agent, he grew this entity until he sold it to a Cherry Hill, NJ based firm in 1997. He then joined a start up planning firm in 1998 and was instrumental in the growth and success of the company from every facet.
In 2003, Jay ventured off to form the Valens Group, LLC in Moorestown, NJ. Jay’s business acumen stems from his involvement within his own family’s manufacturing business located in Philadelphia. Here he learned from the ground up how to dissect all aspects of a closely held business and apply his innate people skills to over come many obstacles business owners face in their day-to-day operations. Be it sales and marketing, manufacturing and inventory or vendors and suppliers. Jay has dealt with these issues from both a financial and practical standpoint. Jay has first hand knowledge of the emotional ties between a business owner and the successor generation in running a family business.
